Personalised wedding scarves make a guest favour with a difference: people wear them, keep them, and remember your date every winter. They can be ordered from 50 pieces, in the standard 140 × 18 cm size, with your names, the date and your theme colours. The right technique depends mainly on the season and the look you are after.

Why a scarf for a wedding?

Sugared almonds and mini jars of jam disappear fast. A scarf stays. It works particularly well in a few situations:

  • A football-mad couple: you met on the terraces, or you never miss a home game. A scarf in your club colours, with your names in place of the team’s, will raise a smile from everyone.
  • A themed wedding: set colours, a sporting theme, a nod to a county or a shared passion. The scarf becomes part of the day, not just a souvenir.
  • A winter wedding: an outdoor ceremony, group photos in the cold, drinks reception on the lawn. Handing scarves out on arrival is both practical and very photogenic.
  • A gift for the wedding party: a smaller run with different wording for the best man, bridesmaids and close family, alongside the guest favours.

For other celebrations (milestone birthdays, village fêtes, company events), our event scarves page covers the options.

Which technique for your wedding?

There are four techniques. For a wedding, three stand out.

Printed satin: free colours and photos

Printed satin is dye-sublimated onto polyester satin. The number of colours is unlimited: gradients, watercolour, florals, a photo of the two of you, it all works. The front and back can differ, with your names on one side and the date and venue on the other, for example. It is the lightest and least warm material: ideal for a spring or summer wedding, where the scarf is more keepsake than protection from the cold. It is also the most affordable technique.

HD woven: the elegant choice

An HD woven scarf is made from woven polyester, with up to 8 colours and a very sharp finish. Fine lettering, intertwined initials and small motifs come out crisply. It is lighter than a knit, and its neat look suits a smart wedding. Again, front and back can carry different designs.

Jacquard: warmth and terrace spirit

Classic jacquard is knitted double-sided in thick, warm acrylic, with up to 3 yarn colours. The back repeats the design in negative. It is the football scarf in its purest form: perfect for a couple of football fans or a December wedding. Fringes are included. If your design has a crest or fine detail, HD jacquard goes up to 7 colours.

Wording ideas for a wedding scarf

The 140 × 18 cm format leaves room for short, readable wording. A few that work:

  • names and date: “Emma & James 14.02.2027”;
  • a terrace-style line with a twist: “Come on the newlyweds”, “Together forever”;
  • venue and year: “Cotswolds 2027”, “Married in York, June 2027”;
  • a wedding hashtag, handy for gathering guests’ photos.

On a double-sided scarf, you can split the details: names on one side, date on the other. Keep the wording short: beyond about twenty characters per side, the letters shrink and so does legibility. Our football scarf slogan ideas have more inspiration.

Matching your theme colours

For jacquard and woven, the palette has 16 yarn colours, from navy, claret and dark green to gold, grey and pink. Shades are matched to Pantone references at proof stage, so you can get very close to your invitations or decorations. A few classic pairings: navy and gold, claret and white, dark green and gold, pink and grey.

If your theme relies on pastels or precise gradients, printed satin is the most faithful option, as it is not limited by the yarns available.

In the online configurator, you can test colours, add a border stripe, choose a pattern (blocks, stripes, checks or plain) and watch the price update live. You can share the design link with your partner or the wedding party before you confirm.

How many scarves, and what budget?

The minimum is 50 scarves per design. To estimate the quantity, start from the number of households or adult guests, then add a small margin for the forgetful and for relatives who will want a second one.

The price per scarf depends on the technique and the tier: printed satin is the cheapest, HD woven a little more. For a wedding of 120 guests, for example, you pay the 100-piece price on all 120 scarves. Prices are ex VAT and excluding delivery.

The individual bag option is very useful for a wedding: each scarf arrives wrapped, ready to place on a plate or drop into a basket at the entrance. The full table is on our football scarf prices page, and the configurator gives you the exact total for your quantity.

Timeline: when to order

Timing is the one thing not to leave late, especially as the to-do list grows in the run-up to the wedding.

  1. Design: create your scarf in the configurator and send the quote request.
  2. Artwork approval: the design proof is free, sent within 24 working hours, with unlimited changes. Nothing is made until you approve it.
  3. Production: allow 4–6 weeks after you approve the proof, in line with our current production times. The express option shortens this; the exact date is confirmed on your quote.
  4. Delivery and preparation: keep a week or two to sort the scarves, set the tables and allow for any delivery hiccup.

In practice, place your order at least two months before the wedding. For a date in November or December, a busy time of year, aim for three months: a winter wedding scarf deserves to arrive well before the big day.

  • Club scarf budget

    A club scarf budget comes down to two things: the technique and the quantity. Prices are per scarf, ex VAT and excluding delivery, and they drop at 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 pieces. Add any extras, check the next tier up, and plan resale before you order.

  • Design a football scarf

    To design a football scarf, pick a technique, set your colours, wording and crest in the configurator, choose a quantity (50 minimum) and approve the free design proof. Production then takes 4–6 weeks.

  • Scarf slogan ideas

    The best scarf slogan is short, in capitals and in strong contrast: about 15 characters on classic jacquard and 25 on HD jacquard. Here are 50 ideas sorted by theme to help you find yours.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for wedding scarves?

50 scarves per design. For a wedding of 50 to 99 guests, the 50-piece price applies; from 100 scarves, the unit price drops.

Can we put a photo of the couple on the scarf?

Yes, with printed satin, which prints unlimited colours, photos included. Jacquard and HD woven reproduce wording and patterns, not photographs.

How far before the wedding should we order?

Production takes 4–6 weeks after you approve the design proof. Allow at least two months before the wedding, more if it falls in November or December.

Can each scarf be individually bagged?

Yes. The individual bag option means every scarf arrives wrapped, ready to place on the tables or hand out at the door.
