Rather than being knitted, the scarf is woven on a jacquard loom using very fine threads, the same method used for brand labels inside clothing. The threads cross at right angles to create a flat, dense surface on which lettering and logos look exceptionally crisp.
Two woven sides are then sewn together, so you can put the club name on one side and a slogan, a date or a sponsor’s logo on the other.
If the scarf will be worn on an open terrace in midwinter, go for knitted jacquard. If the priority is a perfectly reproduced logo, two different sides or a lighter scarf that people will wear indoors or in milder weather, HD woven is the better choice. Many clubs stock both: a knitted scarf for regulars and a woven edition for special occasions.

Knitted jacquard is thick, warm and the classic terrace scarf; HD woven is thin, very sharp and can carry a different design on each side. HD jacquard and printed satin sit in between, for detailed crests and photo artwork.
For a sharp logo on a knitted scarf, send a vector file (or a PNG at least 1,000 px wide on a transparent background), keep the colour count within what the technique allows and simplify the finest details. The designer fine-tunes everything on your proof.
Wash your football scarf at 30°C on a delicate cycle, or by hand, then dry it flat and keep it out of the tumble dryer. The details depend on whether it is knitted acrylic (jacquard) or woven polyester (woven or satin).
